The world’s richest reef, accessible from the surface — gentle anchorages, drift snorkels, and coral gardens within fin-distance of the yacht.
You do not need a scuba certification to experience Raja Ampat. Some of the densest coral cover on the planet sits in 3–6 metres of water — visible by snorkel, without weights, tanks, or training. A snorkeling charter is designed around those gentle reefs.
The reef tops at Melissa's Garden, Friwen Wall, and Arborek House Reef are vivid mosaics of soft and hard coral covered in reef fish, easy to see from the surface. Manta Sandy in the Dampier Strait runs a year-round reef manta cleaning station at 12 metres — close enough that confident snorkelers can free-dive to watch the cleaning, and shallow enough that the silhouettes are stunning even from the surface.
Every yacht carries quality snorkel masks, fins, and reef-safe sunscreen. Each anchorage is briefed for entry/exit points, current direction, and the closest patch of dense coral. Two dinghies are typically launched: one drops the snorkelers, the other circles as a safety boat.
A typical snorkel charter day pairs two reef snorkels with one karst viewpoint hike and a kayak session through a lagoon. Sunset is usually spent at anchor with a dinghy ride to a lookout, then deck dinner under the stars.
