Two hundred fifty karst islets, the Boo Windows light shafts, and oceanic manta cleaning at Magic Mountain.
Misool sits in the southern third of the archipelago — a labyrinth of two hundred fifty karst islets, hidden lagoons, and some of the most-photographed dive sites in Indonesia. The region is also a Misool Foundation-monitored marine reserve.
The Boo Windows are twin underwater karst arches with shafts of light pouring through. The dive is intermediate (20m depth, mild current) and photographs better than almost any other site in the region.
Magic Mountain is the seamount cleaning station for oceanic manta rays — dived on slack tide, with manta sightings on more than 80% of charters between December and March.
Balbulol, Yilliet, and the inner Misool lagoons are paddle-only. We launch kayaks from the yacht each morning and let guests explore for two to three hours — some lagoons take you past pictograph rock art over 5,000 years old.
The waters around Misool are managed by the Misool Foundation, a community-based marine protected area. Charter guests contribute to the conservation fee, which funds ranger patrols and the local school. We brief every guest on reef-safe protocols before snorkeling here.
Misool is best reached on a 10-day or 14-day charter — the sailing distance from Sorong is significant. Send dates to plan the route.
